Editorial Winter Wedding on Lake Ontario

I had the privilege of documenting Colin and Courtney’s small editorial winter wedding on Lake Ontario. Their love for each other and the outdoors set the stage for an unforgettable day filled with genuine moments and breathtaking scenery.

Nestled by the serene blue waters of Lake Ontario, Colin and Courtney exchanged vows in the intimate setting of Colin’s grandparents’ house, just a kilometre away from his childhood home. The cozy and stylish decorations added an elegant touch to the humble surroundings, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth and love.

One of the highlights of the evening was Colin’s surprise fireworks display for Courtney, perfectly timed against the sunset, infusing the night with romance and magic. As a documentary wedding photographer, I aimed to capture these candid moments, preserving the raw emotions and genuine connection shared between the couple.

Drawing inspiration from the picturesque Durham Region, I utilized film-inspired techniques and an editorial approach to tell Colin and Courtney’s story in a timeless manner. The stunning lakeside backdrop provided the perfect canvas for their intimate celebration, allowing me to craft a visual narrative that reflects their deep connection with nature and each other.
