Hi, I’m Justin!
I've always been a bit of a sentimental person. My wife can vouch for that, with my collection of old Pokémon cards and first-grade agendas tucked away in our garage. It's a habit that runs in the family, especially from my Nana, who proudly displays a treasure trove of family photos in her home. Yet, she'll be the first to admit that among them, the wedding photos hold the most cherished place. And that's precisely why I'm so passionate about being a wedding photographer.
My journey with photography began in childhood when I first picked up a camera. Those early shots were taken during our wilderness canoe trips to Algonquin Park, where I found inspiration in the natural beauty of water cascading over granite, towering pines, serene moonlit nights, and the stories shared around campfires. This connection to nature shapes my style.
As I grew older, my passion for photography deepened, leading me to pursue a diploma in photojournalism from Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario. Post-graduation, I spent five years working as a newspaper photographer, capturing moments with notable figures like former First Lady Michelle Obama, Prince Harry, President Biden, and Prime Minister Trudeau. I even had the privilege of spending an entire day with the Toronto Raptors team during their NBA Championship parade, making it one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
In 2020, my path led me to weddings, and I can genuinely say that I've found my calling. The joy and emotion that fill these moments are unparalleled, and I absolutely love every second of it.
My wife Tina and I exhausted after hiking up the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, BC. Tina is my climbing companion, my rock, keeping me grounded with never-ending support.
You can often find me surfing the Great Lakes, playing ultimate frisbee, hiking, getting lost on canoe trips, working on personal photo projects, and hanging out with my beautiful wife and our cat.
Nostalgic in heart and adventurous in spirit
How would you describe yourself to work with?
I’m super easy going, gentle, and a relaxed person. I arrive on the day with a plan, take my job seriously, and adapt as the need arises. From the first DM, I’m here to be your friend, laugh with the wedding party, and hear funny stories from your family.
Why do you love shooting weddings so much?
How could I not love being at one of the most important days of one’s life? It’s an honour to capture the beauty of human interactions with such cool people. Plus, I love cake.
