Cambridge Mill Wedding

Rachel and Jeff’s Cambridge Mill wedding felt like stepping into a dream. The snow had fallen overnight, coating the forest in a soft, sparkling layer. Driving up the winding road, I felt that familiar flutter of excitement, a quiet reminder of how special these days always are.

The guest home was like something out of a storybook. Rachel and Jeff had rented the Stone Cottage and Stables at Cruikston Park, a place steeped in history. Inside, it was alive with warmth and laughter, the wedding party filling every corner. I wandered through the space, camera in hand, imagining how it might look in spring or summer, but honestly, the snow only added to its timeless charm. I could have spent all day photographing inside the cozy cottage and stables alone.

Later, at the Cambridge Mill, their wedding day unfolded effortlessly. Rachel and Jeff wanted a mix of digital and film, giving me the freedom to capture the day without constraints. They made it easy, completely present, soaking in every moment. Even the cold didn’t faze them. Between the ceremony and reception, they stepped outside to connect with each other, breathing in the quiet before the celebration carried on.

Rachel’s colourful florals and disco ball accents brought a playfulness to the day, balanced perfectly by the elegance of the setting. Her friends on “bubble duty” were a hit, sending clouds of bubbles into the air, creating laughter and sticky lenses in equal measure.

I stayed until the night had fully settled in, capturing the rhythm of the celebration as it unfolded. By the time I packed up my gear, I felt the full story of their day had been told, a day filled with creativity, connection, and so much joy.

Rachel’s message to me a few days after the wedding – “Hey Justin! I was going to message you tonight, we are IN LOVE with the photos! We looked through them for a couple of hours last night and it was magical. Thank you for being such a dream throughout the entire process and the day of the wedding. All of our friends and family can’t stop raving about the photos and how amazing you were so thank you so so much from the bottom of our hearts. I keep saying it but you were the best choice we made throughout the process.”
